CIS working with health department officials to keep students, staff members healthy

Campbellsville Independent Schools has released some important information for parents, employees and students concerning the Coronavirus.

Now that the virus has made its way to Kentucky, CIS officials say they will continue to work with local health officials to receive guidance as to the proper way to move forward.

CIS Superintendent Kirby Smith said principals and administrators will continue to work with custodial staff members to ensure all buildings are clean and disinfected.

He said students and staff members are being reminded of proper handwashing hygiene, along with proper cough etiquette.

To help combat the spread of the Coronavirus, it is recommended that everyone:

Wash hands frequently.

Help young students wash their hands well.

Stay home when feeling sick and consult with a medical professional.

Cover nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.

Avoid close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.

Smith said he wants to assure all stakeholders that CIS will remain open on regular schedule until he receives input and guidance from the Taylor County Health Department.
