CHS students win awards at KYA

Campbellsville High School students brought home several awards from the Kentucky Youth Assembly session recently.

The school’s Student Y Chapter attended the annual conference on Nov. 24-26 at Crowne Plaza in Louisville and the state capitol in Frankfort.

The Kentucky Youth Assembly is a three-day program in which students serve as part of a model state government.

Students learn about a variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills and have the opportunity to articulate their beliefs while interacting with students from other schools in Kentucky.

At this year’s conference, Lauryn Agathen, a senior, won an Outstanding Delegate award.

Y Club advisors vote on who receives the Outstanding Delegate award.
