CMS, CHS students celebrate Red Ribbon Week

Campbellsville middle and high school students and staff members are celebrating Bullying Prevention Month and Red Ribbon Week with several special events.

Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug prevention campaign in the country, and serves as a way for students to take a stand against illegal drugs.

This year, CMS and CHS will celebrate Red Ribbon Week on Oct. 28-31.

Campbellsville Middle and High School Youth Services Center is coordinating the activities.

Events include special dress-up days and activities to promote the importance of saying no to using illegal drugs.

Monday, Oct. 28, was Follow Your Dreams Day.

Students and staff members wore their pajamas to school.

Tuesday, Oct. 29, was Be a Hero, Not a Bully, Be Drug Free Day.

Students and teachers wore their favorite superhero outfits.

Wednesday, Oct. 30, is Bullying is Whack Day.

Students and teachers are encouraged to wear mismatched clothing.

Thursday, Oct. 31, is Just Say No to Drugs and Bullying Day.

Students and teachers are asked to unite and wear purple and gold to support their school.

For more information about Red Ribbon Week activities, call YSC Coordinator Theresa Young at (270) 849-3710.
