CES second-graders hunt for treasure

Campbellsville Elementary School second-graders recently went on a treasure hunt.

In Amanda Greer’s class, students are learning about the physical properties of matter.

As an activity, Greer gave each student a bag and a list of items to find near the CES playground and track.

Students were asked to find a flat and pretty rock, an acorn, a dandelion, pinecone and berry, a feather, several different kinds of leaves, a four-leaf clover, a leaf bitten by an insect and more.

After finding their objects, students took them inside and studied them.

Greer then led a discussion about the physical properties of the objects, including their color, size, smell and more.
