CHS science students practice gathering and graphing data

Campbellsville High School students are practicing gathering and graphing data in their integrated science class.

Lauren Bennett’s students recently began conducting laboratory exercises in her class.

The first exercise asked students to time water as it boiled and measure its temperature.

First, students placed a beaker of water on a hot plate. They recorded the temperature of the water each thirty seconds.

After collecting the temperature of the boiling water, students created a graph of their data.

For the second part of their laboratory exercise, students were given a handful of m&m candies and asked to sort them by color.

When finished, students created a graph to show what percentage they have of each color.
