CHS students learn about cell membranes

Campbellsville High School students recently learned about cell membranes in their AP biology class.

Students in Lauren Bennett’s class talked about how a cell membrane protects a cell.

To see their studies firsthand, students performed a lab exercise with bubbles to mimic properties of a cell membrane.

Students were asked to use the bubbles to demonstrate how a cell membrane bends and adapts to its changing conditions.

They also used the bubbles to demonstrate how cell membranes can repair themselves.

And students studied how bubbles interact with air.
