CES to honor Dr. Seuss in Read Across America events

Campbellsville Elementary School students will celebrate Dr. Seuss in a week of several special events.

 

Read Across America events will begin on Monday, March 2, and end Friday, March 6.

 

Students can participate in dress-up days geared toward Seuss’s books.

 

CES Seuss Week

 

Monday is No, I’m Not Getting Up Today Day. Students can wear their pajamas.

 

Tuesday is Fox in Socks Day. Students can wear crazy socks.

 

On Wednesday, students will dress for Wacky Wednesday. Students can wear their wackiest clothing.

 

Thursday is Favorite Dr. Seuss Character Day. Students can dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters.

 

And on Friday, students will dress for If I Ran the Zoo Day. Students can wear animal print and camouflage.

 

All CES students are invited to attend Dr. Seuss Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 3, from 5 to 7 p.m.

 

Those attending should enter through the back doors.

 

Literacy night will be a birthday celebration with story time, arts and crafts, science activities, games, food, prizes, face painting and more.

 

The CES book fair will be open during literacy night.

 

Read Across America is an annual reading awareness program that motivates students to read.

 

Activities are hosted each year around March 2, which was Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
