Hello, I am Calen McKinney, public information officer and grant writer for Campbellsville Independent Schools.
It's my job to communicate information about the district to the community, local media representatives and the public at large. I also write grant requests for the district in hopes of getting funds to further the district's mission and hope to strengthen the district's alumni base.
I attended school in the Campbellsville district since kindergarten. I graduated from Campbellsville High School in 2001. I briefly attended Western Kentucky University before coming back home to complete a degree at Campbellsville University in 2005. My Bachelor of Science degree is in journalism, with a minor in psychology.
After graduating from CU, I attended WKU again to complete a master's degree. In 2007, I received a Master of Arts degree in communication.
I began working for the Central Kentucky News-Journal in 2003, while attending CU. At the CKNJ, I was a staff writer who covered county government, crime, feature stories and more. I left that position in January 2015 to begin working for Campbellsville Schools.
In addition to my duties for the district, I teach Introduction to Communication and Fundamentals of Speech courses at CU.
I can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (270) 465-8774 Ext. 52104.
Please contact me should you need any information about the district.
It's a Great Day to be an Eagle!
