Campbellsville High School Beta Club students brought home three awards – including a first-place honor – at this year’s annual state Beta convention in Louisville. And as a result, the CHS Beta club will compete at the national Beta convention later this year.

Going beyond what is required by Kentucky law, a member of the Campbellsville Board of Education has earned advanced certification for professional development focused on improving the school district.

Board member Pat Hall has earned Level Two Certification in the Kentucky School Boards Association Academy of Studies.

Campbellsville High School boys basketball defeated Bethlehem by a score of 52-46 on Friday, Jan. 23, to win the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All "A" Classic championship.

Congratulations to CHS Basketball Team!

Campbellsville High School boys’ basketball defeated Green County on Tuesday in the Touchstone Energy Fifth Region All “A” Classic at Bethlehem High School. With the win, the Eagles advance to tonight’s championship game at 6 p.m. against host Bethlehem.

Campbellsville Middle School has added nine new members to its faculty and staff roster.

They include Amy Knifley, guidance secretary; Trista Schwoebel and Jessica Newton, instructional aides; Allison Lawless, eighth-grade science teacher; Lee Allen, custodian; Courtney Mills, reading interventionist; Jill Byrne, an ECE teacher at CMS and Campbellsville High School; Whitney Hagan, a library assistant at CMS and CHS; and JoAnn Harris, an art teacher at CHS and CMS.

Campbellsville High surprised Katie Wilkerson on Friday, Jan. 16, as the school’s 2015 inductee into the Fifth Region Athletic Directors Hall of Fame.

Wilkerson, who will be CHS’ 10th honoree, is currently in her 26th year with the Campbellsville Independent School System serving as a teacher, coach and assistant athletic director.

Congratulations to Academic Achievers!

Students from the elementary, middle and high schools were named Academic Achievers for January. They are Brianna Atwood and Caleb Holt, third-graders at CES; Haylee Allen and Noah Wilson, fourth-graders at CMS; and Shauna Jones and Dalton Ballentine, sophomores at CHS.

Congratulations to Michael “Spanky” Despain!

Campbellsville Middle School seventh-grade social studies teacher Michael “Spanky” Despain received the Dare to Soar Award for January. He has worked at the district for 17 years.

Campbellsville Independent Schools’ preschool students are getting hands-on learning about penguins and polar bears.


Campbellsville Independent School District now has a free mobile application for students, parents and community members to stay up-to-date on what is happening in the district, directly from their smartphone or tablet.

The application is available for free download by searching for the “SchoolCast for Me” app on a smartphone or tablet.
