Digital Art - Kyrsten H - 2015-16

Title: KH Photography

Materials needed:

  • Ipad
  • Sketchbook Pro (Apple App)
  • Stylus

Process Description:

For my Digital Art Project I created a logo for my photography business. My business is named KH Photography. I wanted something that would represent it well, so I got on my Ipad on Sketchbook Pro, and began the creation. I started off by getting the outline, using a straight edge tool. I wanted a camera to be my main focus since it was for photography. I drew the outline of a camera with my stylus, making sure all the lines were neat and the camera was noticeable. I then figured out a way to incorporate the name of my business in with the camera. There were two big blank spots on the camera, one on the left side of the lens and one on the right. I drew in a “K” on the left side, making it fill in that empty space. Then I put the “H” on the right side of the lens and did like the “K”. Once I had the main outline I wanted complete, I moved to coloring it in. I wanted purple to be the main color scheme, so I decided to make the “K” and the “H” purple. I used the paint bucket tool to fill in the letters. Then used a black paint bucket to make the camera black. I wanted there to be a flash on the camera as if it were taking a picture, so I made the flash around the lighting yellow, using the stylus and paint tool to color it on my own. I then used the paint bucket tool to add blue for the lens, later using the paintbrush to add white to make a shiny look on it. I tapped on the straightedge tool and chose light purple, to outline some points on my “K” and “H”. After all that was done I wanted to fit my slogan in the picture. By doing this I used the “Text” tool, chose my font, and typed it. Then I used my “Move” tool to move the text where I wanted it. After I was done with that I used the “Text” tool again, but this time typed “Photography” to finish my name. I used the same font as my slogan. I then used the “Move” tool again and moved “photography underneath my logo. After all that my one of a kind logo was complete!
