During first period, I teach spelling and economics on a nine week rotation.
Every Monday students are given a list of ten spelling words and take a pretest over those words. Any student scoring a 100%, does not have to complete the daily spelling activites or take the test on Thursday. The daily spelling activites vary from writing the words five times each to writing a story using all the spelling words of that week. Many students will need extra practice and study time at home.
Economics is taught the last half of the class period on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. There is usually no homework assigned from this subject. We complete the learning activites in the classroom.
