Description:

The Computer Science/Information Technology Career pathways will consist of taking additional CS courses as well as participation in the Student Technology Leadership Program. Once a student has completed three courses in a pathway, they will sit for the KOSSA exam or industry certification exam. If they pass the exam, the student is then considered career ready for the technical component. Industry certifications are available depending on the students career path such as MOS and MTA. Students may choose from the following survey topics: Hardware and Software Concepts, Computational Thinking, Programming Introductions, Web Page Development, Introduction to Networking, Help Desk Operations, Security Fundamentals, Advanced Productivity Software, Photography and Videography, Digital Applications, Cyber Security, Texturing and Special Effects. Students will also be introduced to Soft Skills and be given internship and co-op opportunities. Pre-requisite: Computer Literacy and Applications
