CIS students continue to increase test scores, remain at top in region


Campbellsville Independent Schools’ students are continuing to perform well in the classroom, by once again improving their state test scores in many areas.


As a result, the scores keep CIS as one of the top Districts in the region.


At Campbellsville Elementary School, math and reading scores remain higher than state averages.


Campbellsville Middle School students saw an increase in reading and math, as well as a decrease in the students scoring novice.


And at Campbellsville High School, reading ACT scores are at an all-time high and math scores are above state averages.



CES students play ‘steal the bacon’


Campbellsville Elementary School students recently played “steal the bacon” in their physical education class.


In Zach Durham’s class, students were divided into two groups and given a number.


When a student’s number was called, they raced to “steal the bacon” before their opponent.

CES students make smoothies


Campbellsville Elementary School students recently made smoothies as part of their reading lesson.


Farrah Hord, a reading interventionist, meets with students each day to help them sharpen their reading skills.


One of her groups recently read a book about how to make smoothies.

CES art students create Minecraft selfies


Campbellsville Elementary School art students recently created their own Minecraft selfies.


Students in Adrienne Hash’s class are learning about artist Chuck Close.


Close uses intricate grid-like patterns to portray his subjects in portraits.
