Reagan Knight was recently elected President of the Senate at the State KYA Meeting.  Reagan was elected by over 1300 students from the Commonwealth after launching her campaign this summer which culminated with her campaign speech at KYA.  Congratulations Reagan on this great accomplishment!!

Students in Ms. Cecil's 6th grade Social Studies classes have worked hard the past few weeks studying the cultures of different countries.  The culminating event was a 'Cultural Foods Fair' that was held Thursday, December 11th.  All CMS students were invited to attend.

 Campbellsville High School students presented their Leadership Project on Animal Care and Responsible Ownership to 4th grade students. Students learned how to care for and train animals. They also learned how to be a responsible pet owner.

The CMS Y-Club recently participated at Kentucky Youth Assembly Convention that was held in Louisville Ky.

The CHS Y-Club recently attended the state KYA conference in Louisville and Frankfort. The CHS group received the award of Delegation of Excellence which is based on student participation, debate, behavior, and professionalism. A bill on unnecessary filibustering in Kentucky authored by Samuel Kessler and Alex Doss received the award of Outstanding Bill which was 1 of the 4 chosen out of more than 20 bills. Bryce Richardson was named an outstanding speaker and Blair Lamb received the award of Outstanding Conference Delegate. The conference was attended by over 1200 students from across the state and our students were amazing ambassadors for our school district.  The group was led by Mrs. Cindy Perkins and Mr. David Petett.  Click here to learn more about KYA and here to view the photo gallery.

CMS Leaders of the Week were nominated by their teachers because of the leadership and character.  Congratulations to all of you!

Also, we have nearly 100 high school students taking the ACT tomorrow.  Most are junior and seniors but we also have some freshmen and sophomores taking it as well.  If you get a chance today, wish them luck and ask them about their goals!!

Don’t forget to join the Parent Involvement Group at CES.  The dues are $5.00 and the group will take on a similar role of that of the PTA from past years.
