Zach Parker, Master Controller Engineer with WAVE 3 TV Studio in Louisville, KY came to CMS last Friday to work with the Eagles Nest crew on video editing and use of the green screen.  Mr. Parker plans to continue work with the Eagles Nest crew to make them proficient in their jobs.

Mrs. Hord’s 5th grade reading classes recently participated in making genre boards.    Each group's board portrayed a different genre and the groups also taught the other students about their genre.

Fifteen CMS students attended the October Leadership Luncheon held and sponsored by Creekside Restaurant. Mrs. Judy Cox of the Chamber of Commerce made arrangements for Ms. Wanda Washington to speak to the 'Leaders of the Week' on diversity.

CMS Leaders of the Week were nominated by their teachers because of the leadership and character.  Congratulations to all of you!

Leaders for the week of October 27th:

Dakota Harris - 5th grade, Destiny Hicks - 6th grade, Mary Russell - 4th grade, Zaria Cowan - 7th grade and Casey Hardin - 8th grade.

Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs

Applications are now available for any 9th, 10, or 11th grader that is interested in applying for the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. No minimum GPA.  No test scores. No cost to the student to attend.
GSE is a great opportunity for students in engineering, IT, biomedical, business & marketing, graphic design, robotics, and FBLA.

If you would like more information, please email David Petett.  The deadline to apply is December 12th.

Band narrowly misses out on qualifying for state semifinals

The CHS Marching band finished one spot out of qualifying for a return trip to the state semifinals Saturday.  This concluded a very successful marching season with several first place competition finishes.  Congrats to the students and Mr. Shelton on a great season!

CHS Academic Team Kicks off season

The JV  team composed of Samuel Kessler, Micah Price, Christian Berry and Austin Fitzgerald won their quick recall match over Russell County 11 - 4.  Go Eagles!

CHS football clinches home playoff game

CHS football defeated Berea on Friday night to clinch a first round home playoff game for the second year in a row.  Congrats to the eagles for the big district win!!
