CHS band students participate in WKU honors band

Campbellsville High School band members were recently chosen to participate in a statewide honors band clinic.

Five students were chosen to participate in the Western Kentucky University Honors Band Clinic, hosted on Jan. 18-20 in Bowling Green.

Students participating include seniors Chaz Babbs and Tiffany Kane, juniors Brandon Greer and Ruby Hatfield and sophomore Conner Riley.

More than 800 students were nominated to participate, and about 400 from 60 high schools across Kentucky were chosen.

Clinicians included Dr. David Waybright, director of bands at the University of Florida; Dr. Sue Creasap, who retired from Morehead State University; John Sanks, director of bands at Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, N.M.; and Dr. Thomas Bough, director of bands at University of Northern Illinois.

After three days of rehearsal, the students performed to showcase their work during the clinic.

Zach Shelton is the CHS band director.
