CES Wings Express program to host Family Night

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express staff members will host Family Night for students and their families on Thursday, Dec. 7.

 

Activities are planned from 5 to 7 p.m. in the CES cafeteria and gymnasium.

 

There will be a variety of free activities, crafts and games.

 

All students who attend Wings Express and their family members are welcome to attend.

 

A free chili supper will be served.

 

There will be a special appearance by Santa, who will meet and take photos with children.

 

Christmas music will be performed during the event.

 

There will be regular Wings Express activities from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7. Those who aren’t attending Family Night should be picked up inside the school.

 

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

 

The program, which is for students in kindergarten through third grade, is free to those who apply and are accepted.

 

Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are no activities on Fridays.

 

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

 

About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program.
