CIS to host basketball league

Campbellsville Independent Schools will host a developmental basketball league for boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade, starting in November.

 

Those eligible to attend are students attending Campbellsville Independent Schools or Kentucky Christian Academy.

 

Players will meet two times each week, one day for practice and on Sunday afternoons for games.

 

Campbellsville Head Basketball Coach Tim Davis, along with assistant coaches Cody Wills, Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith and Chris “PeeWee” Smith, will coordinate the league.

 

Players will work on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, screening, footwork and more.

 

Activities will be in the Campbellsville Middle School multi-purpose room and Campbellsville High School gymnasium.

 

Participants will be grouped based on age, grade and ability level.

 

Those interested can sign up on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. or Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the CHS gymnasium.

 

Evaluation practice will be Thursday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at the CHS gym.

 

Cost is $35 per participant and each will receive a T-shirt and secondary insurance coverage. Cost for two participants in the same family will be $60.
