CHS students use gummy bears to study government

Campbellsville High School students are learning about different types of governments – with gummy bears.

In Susan Dabney’s AP U.S. government class, students are learning the many different types of government, including republic, fascism, oligarchy, direct democracy, indirect democracy, autocracy, theocracy and communism.

As a project, Dabney recently asked her students to define and demonstrate one of the types of government.

Students first defined their government, and then, using gummy bears, demonstrated how that government works and what it looks like.

After taking photos of their gummy bear creations, students could enjoy the candies as a snack.
