CHS students have fun during homecoming activities

Campbellsville High School celebrated football homecoming this week, with dress-up days, spirit games, the crowning of a king and queen, a parade and Eagle Family Night.

There was a dress-up theme each day, along with a spirit game. Students competed to win points for their class, and, at the end of the week, a winner will be announced.

The schedule was as follows:

Monday, Sept. 18 – Roll Out of Bed Day, with students wearing their pajamas, and playing the Makeup game.

Tuesday, Sept. 19 – Through the Screen Day, with students dressing like their favorite television and movie characters, and playing the Food Factor game.

Wednesday, Sept. 20 – Blast Through the Past Day, with students wearing clothes from decades of the past, and playing Name that Tune.

Thursday, Sept. 21 – Color Wars Day, with students wearing a specific color based on their class. Freshmen will wear green, sophomores will wear blue, juniors will wear pink and seniors will wear black. Students played the Puffy Pumpkin game.

Friday, Sept. 22 – Purple and Gold Day, with students showing their school spirit.

There was a districtwide pep rally on Friday at 9 a.m. in the CHS gym, with all CIS students attending.

This year’s parade began at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The route began at CHS, traveling to Campbellsville Elementary School.

Eagle Family Night will get underway at 5 p.m. on Friday.

The annual event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. for all Campbellsville Independent Schools’ students and parents.

The first 600 parents to attend will receive a free Eagle T-shirt.

Activities will include games for those of all ages, including a cupcake walk, face painting, football throw, basketball shoot, ring toss, inflatables and much more.

Events will be at the Campbellsville Middle School multipurpose room and library and Campbellsville High School’s gymnasium, cafeteria and practice football field.

Free food will be served for those attending, and will include chili, hot dogs, drinks and desserts.

Prizes will be given to those who win games, along with three people receiving a Kindle Fire and one person taking home a flat screen Smart TV.

Prize tickets will be given to those who complete surveys about Eagle Family Night. The surveys will be in the CMS library.

All activities will end at 6:30 p.m. and all of those attending will be asked to make their way to the CHS gym. Prizes will be given away at 6:45 p.m. and winners must be present to win.

To end homecoming activities, the CHS football team will play Fort Knox at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s homecoming king and queen ceremony will begin at halftime.
