CIS staff members prepare for school year

Campbellsville Independent Schools’ staff members have spent the past several weeks preparing for the start of the 2017-2018 school year.

 

Maintenance workers have prepared the buses for the year and performed routine work at all school buildings.

 

Teachers have spent several weeks preparing their classrooms for their new students.

 

Campbellsville Middle School’s former fourth- and fifth-grade teachers moved their classrooms to the Campbellsville Elementary School building. CES now houses preschool through fifth-grade students.

 

CIS custodial workers have painted the hallways and classrooms.

 

Cafeteria workers at Campbellsville middle and high schools gave the cafeteria a makeover, with several new paintings on the walls.

 

Computer labs have been moved, parking lots have been paved, landscaping has been completed, sidewalks have been constructed and much more at the CES and CMS/CHS campuses.

 

Additional visitor parking has been created at CES.

 

In addition to work done at the buildings, many administrative changes have been made at the CIS campuses.

 

Elisha Rhodes is now principal at CES. Zach Lewis is the new CMS principal. And David Petett is now the principal at CHS.

 

And Kirby Smith is now superintendent.

 

Several new teachers and staff members have been hired to ensure students have the instruction and guidance they need to be successful this school year.

 

The 2017-2018 school year will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
