CHS students have fun bowling, performing community service

Campbellsville High School students had fun this week at their orientation events to help kick of the 2017-2018 school year.

During a day together, the students went bowling, performed community service and learned how they can make sure their year is successful.

On Tuesday, Aug. 1, CHS freshmen came to their school to receive their schedules, meet their teachers and see their classrooms and to have fun together. They also learned about the school’s clubs and organizations and the many internships available to them.

After spending time at the CHS campus, the freshmen class traveled to Phillips Lanes Bowling Alley for bowling and lunch.

In the afternoon, CHS sophomores, juniors and seniors came to the CHS campus to receive their schedules and meet the new faces at their school.

Afterward, the students formed groups to write thank you cards to give to local businesses.

When finished, the groups walked Main Street and spoke with several business owners. The students gave the business owners t-shirts and cards and thanked them for supporting Campbellsville Independent Schools.

CHS upperclassmen competed in a competition to see which group could take the most creative selfie with a downtown business owner. The photos can be found by searching #chsselfie.

After the competition, CHS sophomores, juniors and seniors came back to the school for pizza.

The 2017-2018 school year begins on Wednesday, Aug. 9.
