Local churches invite CIS students to Back to School Jamboree

Campbellsville Independent Schools’ students have been invited to attend a Back to School Jamboree.


Several local churches, including Bethel AME, Fannie Chapel CME, First Baptist, Pleasant Union Baptist and Pleasant Run Baptist churches, are hosting the event on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sam Wickliffe Park.


There will be food served, along with games and activities for children, such as face painting, water balloons and more.


Anyone who wants to participate in a three-on-three basketball tournament should call Montrelle Irvin at (270) 403-5530.


A talent show will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Those who would like to participate should call Tangie Taylor at (270) 312-9806.


Backpacks will be given to children on a first-come-first-served basis.


School supplies will be given to all children in kindergarten through high school who attend.


All local school-age children are welcome to attend the events.
