Campbellsville Middle School fourth-graders recently learned Greek and Latin root words.
To help prepare for K-RREP testing, Kaye Agathen helped her students learn some of the words they commonly read in test questions.
Agathen gave the students a Greek or Latin root word, such as “anti,” “auto,” “multi,” “poly,” “sub” and many more, and then asked them to list many words that contain that root.
Then, students drew a picture of one of the words, defined it and then used it in a sentence.
After doing the activity for many weeks, students had learned about 50 root words used in the Greek and Latin languages.
