CHS concert band receives proficient rating at state contest

Campbellsville High School concert band students performed at state competition on Monday, May 8.

Each year, the CHS concert band performs as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association concert band assessment.

The band performed in March at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown and received distinguished ratings in each category, from every judge.

Because the band received the highest rating possible from every judge, CHS was invited to play at the state level assessment.

At the state assessment, which was at the University of Louisville, the CHS band received a proficient rating.

The band performed “Arrows,” “Fort Canterbury March” and “As Summer Was Just Beginning.”

Zach Shelton is the CHS concert band director.
