Campbellsville High School concert band students will perform at a state competition next week.
Each year, the CHS concert band performs as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association concert band assessment.
The band performed in March at John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown and received distinguished ratings in each category, from every judge.
Because the band received the highest rating possible from every judge, CHS was invited to play at the state level assessment.
The state assessment is set for Monday, May 8, at University of Louisville.
The band will perform “Arrows,” “Fort Canterbury March” and “As Summer Was Just Beginning.”
CHS is set to perform at 5 p.m. in Comstock Concert Hall.
Zach Shelton is the CHS concert band director.
CHS senior Murphy Lamb and his fellow trumpet players play.
CHS freshmen Nathan Anderson, at left, and Gavin Ford play trumpet.
From left, CHS junior Austin Fitzgerald, sophomore Elizabeth Sullivan, junior Christian Berry and sophomore Makayla Miller play clarinet.
CHS sophomore Natalie Caldwell plays the oboe.
CHS junior Tiffany Kane, at left, and Campbellsville Middle School seventh-grader Caden Cowherd play flute.
CHS freshmen Tristin Lopez, at left, and Abie Angel play French horn.
CHS freshman David Silva, at left, and sophomore Randy Harris play saxophone.
CHS Band Director Zach Shelton leads his band as members perform “As Summer Was Just Beginning.”
