CES Wings Express students make treat bags for third-graders

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently made treat bags for third-grade students who will take state standardized tests in coming weeks.

Wings Express students sorted bags of Smarties, peppermints, Tootsie Rolls and Starburst candies to give a students a treat for when they test.

Third-graders – the only students to take the tests at CES – will test on May 2, 3 and 4.

CES will host a testing party for third-graders on Friday, April 28.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Amanda Barnett is director.

Students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for activities.

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

There are about 90 students enrolled in the Wings Express program.

Registration is under way for the summer program, which begins on Monday, May 22.

For more information, call Barnett at (270) 465-4561.
