CES students make clay owls

Campbellsville Elementary School art students recently made their own owls out of clay.

In Adrienne Hash’s class, students are learning about sculptures, which are artworks that have form.

Hash discussed Helen Cordero, who was a potter from New Mexico. She made a sculpture entitled “Grandfather Storyteller,” which Hash and her students analyzed.

Then, students listened to the story “The Little White Owl” by Tracey Corderoy.

The book is about an owl who likes to tell stories.

Hash asked her students to make their own little owls out of clay.

They made a body, eyes and nose and then added feathers.
