CES celebrates Dr. Seuss

Campbellsville Elementary School students celebrated Dr. Seuss this week with several special events.

Events began on Monday, March 6, and ended Friday, March 10.

Students participated in dress-up days geared toward Seuss’s books.

On Monday, students participated in Multicolor Day. Students wore as many colors as possible to celebrate the book “My Many Colored Days.”

Tuesday, March 7, was Silly Sock Day. Students were encouraged to wear mismatched, crazy patterned or silly socks as they celebrated the book “Fox in Socks!”

On Wednesday, March 8, students dressed for Wacky Wednesday. Students wore their wackiest clothing, including mismatched or inside out clothes, crazy hair and more. The book “Wacky Wednesday” was celebrated.

Thursday, March 9, was Going Places Day, and students wore a shirt from a vacation or a place they have been. The book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” was celebrated.

And on Friday, March 10, students dressed for Seuss Character Day. Students dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.

In addition to dress-up days, the CES media center hosted a Seuss Book Project contest.

Projects were due Thursday, March 9, and winners will be announced soon. Winning projects will receive a basket of Dr. Seuss and book-related prizes.

All projects must be picked up by Monday, March 13. Any remaining projects will be thrown away.
