Campbellsville Elementary School students will celebrate Dr. Seuss in a week full of several special events.
Events will begin on Monday, March 6, and end Friday, March 10.
Students can participate in dress-up days geared toward Seuss’s books.
On Monday, Marcy 6, students can participate in Multicolor Day. Students are encouraged to wear as many colors as possible to celebrate the book “My Many Colored Days.”
Tuesday, March 7, is Silly Sock Day. Students are encouraged to wear mismatched, crazy patterned or silly socks as they celebrate the book “Fox in Socks!”
On Wednesday, March 8, students will dress for Wacky Wednesday. Students can wear their wackiest clothing, including mismatched or inside out clothes, crazy hair and more. The book “Wacky Wednesday” will be celebrated.
Thursday, March 9, is Going Places Day, and students are encouraged to wear a shirt from a vacation or a place they have been. The book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” will be celebrated.
And on Friday, March 10, students can dress for Seuss Character Day. Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
In addition to dress-up days, the CES media center will host a Seuss Book Project contest.
Projects must be a display board based on a Dr. Seuss book. Students are encouraged to be creative and use paper, boxes, fabric, pipe cleaners, markers, paint or any other craft items.
The project can’t contain any edible parts, however, and all work on the project must be done at home.
Entries are to be completed mostly by students, but parents and other family members can help.
Those entering the contest shouldn’t write their names on the project. When brought to the media center, all projects will be numbered.
Projects must be submitted between Monday, March 6, and Thursday, March 9.
After the deadline, projects will be judged and winners will be chosen for each category. Winning projects will receive a basket of Dr. Seuss and book-related prizes.
All projects must be picked up by Monday, March 13. Any remaining projects will be thrown away.
