CHS girls’ basketball team defeats Washington County

Campbellsville High School girls’ basketball team defeated Washington County recently.

 

Final score was 51-35.

 

CHS junior Kiyah Barnett and Campbellsville Middle School eighth-grader Catlyn Clausen each had 12 points. Senior Brenna Wethington had eight points.

 

CHS boys’ team also took on Washington County, but couldn’t get the win. Final score was 50-62.

 

CHS teams will play in this year’s 20th district tournament next week.

 

In the first round, CHS girls’ team will play Adair County on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Game time is 8 p.m. at Adair County High School.

 

Anthony Epps is in his first year as CHS girls’ basketball head coach.

 

Assistant coaches are Katie Wilkerson, Natalia Warren, George Eon and Debbie Gowdy-Smith.

 

The CHS boys’ team will also take on Adair County in the first round, on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Adair County High School. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

 

Tim Davis is in his 22nd year as CHS boys’ basketball head coach.

 

Assistant coaches are Cody Wills, Will Griffin, Chris “Scoop” Smith and Chris “Peewee” Smith.
