CES Wings Express students make snowmen ornaments

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently made their own snowmen ornaments.

Using salt dough, students first smoothed out a circle and then made three thumbprints in it to represent the snowman’s buttons.

After letting the dough dry, students painted their ornaments and then took them home.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fridays for activities.

There are no Wings Express activities on Wednesdays.

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

About 90 students will participate in the Wings Express program.

Amanda Barnett is Wings Express director.

For more information about the program, call Barnett at (270) 465-4561 Ext. 31141.
