CES students practice spelling

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently practiced their spelling skills.

In CES Explorers, students read the book “’Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving” by Dav Pilkey.

Afterward, students worked together to see how many words they can spell with the letters in the word Thanksgiving.

They were also asked to think about the sequencing of events in the story and draw what happened in the beginning, middle and end.

CES Explorers is one of several activity classes that students have each week. Miriah Cox, who leads the CES Explorers class, teaches students about reading strategies, vowel sounds, parts of speech, reading comprehension and much more.
