CES kindergarteners learn about Groundhog Day

 

Campbellsville Elementary School kindergarten students recently learned about Groundhog Day.

 

The day is celebrated on Feb. 2 each year. According to folklore, if groundhog Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his burrow and see his shadow, there will be six more weeks of the winter season.

Campbellsville Elementary School first-grade students recently had fun playing math games together.

 

In Hailey Ogle’s class, students spend time each day rotating to various math centers.

CES Wings Express students make snowflakes

 

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently had fun making snowflakes.

 

Students used Popsicle sticks glued together to form a snowflake. Then, students glued buttons on the ornaments to decorate them.

CES kindergarteners paint pinch pots

 

Campbellsville Elementary School kindergarteners recently painted their pinch pots.

 

In Adrienne Hash’s art classes, students learned about how art can tell stories and help the viewer learn about other people. They also learned how art can be functional, such as a pot carrying water.
