Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students are practicing their coloring and counting skills.
Students were recently given a worksheet to color, but had to decode a key of numbers to see which colors they were to use.
The scene depicted fruit labeled with numbers, and students used their key to see which colors correspond with which numbers.
Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.
Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are no activities on Fridays.
Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.
About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program.
Doretha Sanders is Wings Express director.
