CIS facilities manager receives Change Award

Campbellsville Independent Schools Facilities Manager Keith McMahan received the Change Award at the Campbellsville Board of Education meeting on Monday, Oct. 16.

Campbellsville Independent Schools Superintendent Kirby Smith honors three Change Award winners each month, including a certified and classified employee and a community member.

McMahan, who will retire in June, received the classified Change Award.

The awards are given based upon six elements, which spell the word Eagles. They include Encouraging and exhibiting Attitudes of Greatness, while Leading with high Expectations to Success.

In reading a letter nominating McMahan for the honor, Smith read that McMahan is one of the most dependable, dedicated and hardworking employees at CIS.

“He is very talented and good at what he does,” Smith read.

“Through the years, he has saved this District thousands of dollars with his ability to complete projects without needing to hire contractors.”

Smith said most people don’t understand the demands of McMahan’s job.

“I have never seen anyone work in such a pressured environment, yet you would never know because he never seems to be rattled,” Smith read.

“It is an honor to recognize and reward Mr. McMahan for a job well done.”

McMahan has worked for CIS for 25 years.
