CES Wings Express teachers looking for community partners

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express teachers are searching for community partners to help students this school year.

Wings Express Director Doretha Sanders is searching for volunteers to share their talents with her students.

Sanders said she is searching for community partners to read with students, help with homework, play games and share their interests and hobbies with students.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

The program, which is for students in kindergarten through third grade, is free to those who apply and are accepted.

Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are no activities on Fridays.

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program.

For more information about the program, or to volunteer, call Sanders at (270) 465-4561.
