CES announces new parent pickup procedures

Campbellsville Elementary School recently announced changes to its parent pickup procedures.

With the addition of fourth- and fifth-graders at CES, changes have been made to the school’s afternoon traffic procedures.

Vehicles will enter the school parking lot from Clem Haskins Boulevard. This street can be entered by turning off Martin Luther King Boulevard onto Clem Haskins near Allen Street. The old entrance near the softball fieldhouse will be closed for the afternoon pickup line.

This change is essential so that the overflow of traffic stays off of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Once parents come into the loop, CES staff members will ask parents to form two lines, similar to how this process was done during the Wings Express program.

CES staff members will load seven cars on each side at a time. If a child isn’t ready to be picked up, his or her parents or guardians will be pulled forward until the child is ready.

Because of preschool dismissal at 2 p.m., no vehicles will be allowed to line up for pickup until 2:20 p.m.

The school’s drop-off procedures will remain the same as last school year.

CES Principal Elisha Rhodes thanks all parents and guardians for following the new pickup guidelines in an effort to make sure all students are kept safe.

Diagrams are posted to help parents understand the new procedures.
