CES students learn about butterflies

Campbellsville Elementary School third-graders recently learned about butterflies.

In her science class, Marcia Sharp taught students about the butterfly life cycle.

Students learned that butterflies begin as eggs and then become caterpillars. They then go through chrysalis to become adults.

To show her students firsthand, Sharp brought butterfly eggs to her classroom and she and her students cared for them until they became adult butterflies.

And, several days later, when the butterflies were ready, all third-grade students released them.

CES third-graders recently learned about the butterfly life cycle. Students cared for their own butterflies in these containers until they were ready to be released.
