CES Wings Express students enjoy reading

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently enjoyed an afternoon of reading.

Students spend time each afternoon working on homework, learning sight words, playing games, learning about crafts and reading with each other.

The after-school program will end for the 2016-2017 school year on Friday, May 5.

And this year’s summer program will begin on Monday, May 22.

Those interested in having their child attend the summer session should contact Wings Express Director Amanda Barnett at (270) 465-4561 Ext. 31141.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

For Wings Express programs, students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fridays. There are no Wings Express activities on Wednesdays.

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program.
