CES first-graders play games to learn new words

Campbellsville Elementary School first-grade students are having fun while learning new words.

In Shirley Cox’s class, students play games each week to help them learn new sight words.

When playing Candyland, students must pronounce a new word whenever they land on their game board.

Students also practice pronouncing new words while playing Don’t Spill the Beans. After spinning, students must pronounce a word. If they pronounce it correctly, students add a bean to the pile and hope it doesn’t spill.
