CES Wings Express students visit Taylor County Public Library

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students took a trip to the Taylor County Public Library on Friday, Feb. 6.

Students had fun coloring, building with Legos, playing games on tablets, looking at books and much more.

Sarah Hampton, Taylor County Public Library outreach librarian, gave students a tour and talked to them about all the library offers.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Fridays for activities.

There are no Wings Express activities on Wednesdays.

Students are given a snack and then divided into groups to participate in programs that best fit their needs.

About 90 students will participate in the Wings Express program.

Amanda Barnett is Wings Express director.

For more information about the program, call Barnett at (270) 465-4561 Ext. 31141.
