CES student to star in ‘Annie!’

 

Campbellsville Elementary School student Sophia Santos, who will soon be a fourth-grader, has been cast in the upcoming Campbellsville University production of “Annie!”

 

Santos has been cast as an orphan named Maria.

 

Cyndi Chadwick, who is a music teacher at CES, will be the music director for the production.

 

And Christian Berry, who graduated from Campbellsville High School in May, is part of the crew.

CES students participate in Field Day events

 

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently competed in the annual Field Day games.

 

CES kindergarteners in Lisa Wiseman’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.     CES first-graders in Amanda Barnett’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.     CES second-graders in Tracey Rinehart’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.

 

CES third-graders in Patty Haley’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.     CES fourth-graders in Garnetta Murrell’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.     CES fifth-graders in Jessica Lile’s class were named the winners of their grade’s Field Day competition.

About 30 participate in ‘Hoop It Up’ basketball camp

 

Campbellsville High School boys’ basketball coaches and players hosted a “Hoop It Up” basketball clinic on June 11-14 at the CHS gym.

 

About 30 students entering first through eighth grades this fall participated.

 

At the clinic, participants learned fundamentals and competed in shooting and fundamental contests and three-on-three and five-on-five play.

CES guidance counselor receives Change Award

 

Campbellsville Elementary School Guidance Counselor Sonya Orberson received the Change Award at the Campbellsville Board of Education meeting on Monday, June 11.

 

Campbellsville Independent Schools Superintendent Kirby Smith honors three Change Award winners each month, including a certified and classified employee and a community member.

 

Orberson received the certified Change Award for the month of May, but was unable to attend the Board meeting that month.
