CMS students study Romare Bearden

Campbellsville Middle School art students are studying artist Romare Bearden.

In Jo Ann Harris’s art classes, students are learning about collages.

Bearden, who once worked as a social worker, became known for his collages, watercolors and prints, all featuring jazz music.

He became recognized as one of the most creative and original visual artists of the twentieth century.

Harris asked her students to make a collage of construction paper, depicting jazz music.
