CMS, CHS cross country runners win in Green County

Campbellsville middle and high school cross country runners competed in the first meet of the season in Green County on Thursday, Aug. 24.

 

Runners competed in the 1.6-mile race and brought home several awards.

 

In the varsity boys’ race, CHS junior Ian McAninch finished in 26th place overall, at 10:49.

 

Jonathan Sparks, a freshman, was 43rd, finishing in 12 minutes. And Jake Dicken, also a freshman, finished in 44th place, at 12:05.

 

In the middle school boys’ race, seventh-grader Chase Hord finished in fifth place, at 10:55.

 

Caleb Holt, a sixth-grader, finished the race in 30th place, at 13:15.

 

In the middle school girls’ race, Campbellsville Elementary School third-grader Baylee Pike finished in 12th place overall, at 14:34.

 

CMS eighth-grader Serenity Ford finished in 17th place, at 15:12.

 

And MaCayla Falls, a seventh-grader at CMS, finished the race in 22nd place, at 16:09.

 

CMS and CHS cross country runners will compete on Saturday, Aug. 26, in the St. X Tiger Run in Louisville, which is one of the state’s largest and fastest cross country races of the season.
