CMS students learn about nutrition

Campbellsville Middle School students recently learned about nutrition in their physical education class.

In Weston Jones’s class, students spend several weeks learning about health and then several weeks doing physical activity.

Fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students recently learned about having a balanced and healthy diet.

Jones explained the five food groups and spoke about why it’s important to have a balanced diet.

And while some foods taste better than the others, he said, students should always eat more vegetables than sweets.

Jones talked to seventh- and eighth-grade students about the risks of using illegal drugs and alcohol.
