Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference boys’ basketball tournaments will begin on Thursday, Jan. 19.
Campbellsville Middle School boys’ seventh- and eighth-grade teams will compete in first round play on Friday, Jan. 20.
In addition to CMS, the CKMSAC includes Adair, Casey, Green, Hart, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor county middle schools.
CMS and Green, Hart and Taylor counties play in the north division, and Casey, Russell, Metcalfe and Adair counties play in the south division.
The CMS seventh-grade team is ranked as fourth in its division, while the eighth-grade squad – which went undefeated this regular season – is the top seed in its division.
In first round play, the CMS seventh- and eighth-grade teams will play Casey County on Friday, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Campbellsville High School gymnasium.
Should the CMS teams advance to the second round of play, they will take on the winners of the Green County vs. Metcalfe County games on Thursday, Jan. 19.
Second round games will be played on Monday, Jan. 23, and Tuesday, Jan. 24.
And the championship games are set for Thursday, Jan. 26.
CMS will host the sixth-grade CKMSAC tournament on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7, but was postponed because of inclement weather.
The CMS boys’ sixth-grade team will compete.
The tournament starts at 10 a.m. in the CHS gym, with CMS taking on Green County.
At 10:45 a.m., Russell County will play Taylor County.
The winner of the CMS vs. Green County game will play Casey County at 11:30 a.m.
At 12:15 p.m., the winner of the Russell vs. Taylor County game will play Adair County.
And at 1 p.m., the championship game will be between the winners of the 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. games.
Admission to the tournament is $3, and all spectators should enter via the back gym entrance.
