CHS basketball coaches inducted into Hall of Fame

Campbellsville High School’s basketball coaches are now part of an elite group of coaches.

Tim Davis, who coaches the boys’ team, and Anthony Epps, the girls’ head coach, were inducted into the 5th Region Athletic Director’s Hall of Fame in a special ceremony at Marion County High School on Tuesday, March 6.

Michael Holt, athletic director at Marion County, made the presentation.

Davis and Epps were presented plaques from the 5th Region Athletic Director’s Association and honored before the region tournament championship game.

The two were honored for their time at Marion County High School, as coach and player.

Davis and Epps have remained close since Davis coached Epps at Marion County and they won a state championship together.

Davis just completed his 23rd year as head boys’ basketball coach at CHS, and Epps has completed his second season as the head coach for the Lady Eagles.

Davis is also athletic director at CHS.

Epps, a former point guard who led Marion County and the University of Kentucky to championships in the 1990s, now works as an exceptional child educator at CHS.

Before coming to Campbellsville Independent Schools at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year, he was an instructional assistant and head girls’ basketball coach at Marion County High School.

Epps was an assistant boys’ basketball coach at CHS before taking over the Lady Eagles program.

Davis graduated from Meade County High School in 1975. He graduated from then Campbellsville College in 1980 and began teaching history at Hart County High School and served as assistant basketball coach. He also helped with the school's cross country team.

He later began teaching special education at Marion County and became the school's head basketball coach. He was there for 12 years.

His longest education stint, however, has been at Campbellsville High School.

He taught special education and virtual classes at CHS, and served as athletic director for many years.
