Campbellsville High School sophomore Zoe McAninch has advanced to next month’s state STLP competition.
Students attended the Regional Showcase at the University of Louisville on Friday, Nov. 17.
McAninch competed in the online infographic category, and judging for that competition was recently completed.
As a result of her score of 49 out of 50 points, McAninch has been invited to participate in the state competition.
The judges commented that her design as simple, but effective, and her process was well written.
This isn’t the only honor McAninch has received.
After an interview at the regional showcase, she was chosen to serve on the social media service team.
The social media service team is a group of students who will capture the events at state competition and post them to social media.
Only one or two students are chosen from each region to be a part of the group.
Judges said McAninch presented herself during her interview with “awesome journalism skills paired with presentation skills.”
McAninch isn’t the only CHS student who will compete in the state STLP competition.
It was announced in November that senior Austin Fitzgerald and juniors Randy Harris and Brandon Greer advanced in the Showcase Project category for the Minecraft Circuitry competition.
State STLP competition will be Thursday, March 29, at Rupp Arena and the Lexington Center in Lexington.
STLP uses project-based learning principles to empower student learning and achievement through the utilization, and creation, of technology to solve school and community needs.
STLP provides a framework for highlighting the advanced use of technology for learning in Kentucky’s classrooms.
It also provides opportunities for students to share their projects, products and services at local, district, regional, state and national events.
Sonya Kessler is the STLP sponsor at CHS.
