CHS STLP students advance to state competition

Campbellsville High School STLP students recently competed and have advanced to state competition.

Students attended the Regional Showcase at the University of Louisville on Friday, Nov. 17.

After an interview, CHS sophomore Zoe McAninch was chosen to serve on the social media service team.

The social media service team is a group of students who will capture the events at state competition and post them to social media.

Only one or two students are chosen from each region to be a part of the group.

Judges said McAninch presented herself during her interview with “awesome journalism skills paired with presentation skills.”

And in the Showcase Project category, for the Minecraft Circuitry competition, the CHS team advanced to compete at state.

The team includes senior Austin Fitzgerald and juniors Randy Harris and Brandon Greer.

State STLP competition will be in March at Rupp Arena and the Lexington Center in Lexington.

STLP uses project-based learning principles to empower student learning and achievement through the utilization, and creation, of technology to solve school and community needs.

STLP provides a framework for highlighting the advanced use of technology for learning in Kentucky’s classrooms.

It also provides opportunities for students to share their projects, products and services at local, district, regional, state and national events.

Sonya Kessler is the STLP sponsor at CHS.
