CHS students learn to make salsa

Campbellsville High School students recently learned to make their own salsa.

Angie Freeman, expanded foods and nutrition program assistant at Taylor County Extension Office, came to CHS recently to help students learn to cook nutritious foods.

Students in CHS teacher Deanna Campbell’s foods and nutrition classes learned about good food habits and how to make easy, but healthy, snacks at home.

After the lesson, Freeman taught the students how to make salsa, by adding herbs, spices, tomatoes and more.

She discussed the proper way to cut vegetables and how to follow a recipe.
