CES, CHS students raise money, items for hurricane victims

Campbellsville elementary and high school students recently collected money and items for Hurricane Harvey victims.

CES fifth-graders led a donation drive at their school, with classes competing to see who could collect the most items.

CHS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students collected food and supplies for the hurricane victims.

FCCLA sponsor Deanna Campbell worked with former student and FCCLA member Morgan Milby, who graduated in May 2016, to collect the donations.

CHS students paid $1 to dress down during a recent school day, with all proceeds donated to the Hurricane Harvey relief effort. About $250 was raised.

Hurricane Harvey came through Texas recently, and, according to the National Hurricane Center, is the biggest rainstorm on record with rainfall reaching about 50 inches in some places.
